
Ioan Mărginean
Senior researcher
Professor Ioan Mărginean is a PhD supervisor at the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance, University of Bucharest, and senior researcher at the Research Institute for Quality of Life, Romanian Academy. Between În 1990 and 2015 he was the deputy director of the institute. Ioan Mărginean coordinates the Quality of life research programme and is the Editor of the Quality of lifejournal. His domains of interest are: methodology of sociological research, social structure, social policy, quality of life, social indicators, and the study of democracy. During his career, he published, coordinated or contributed as author to about 50 books and published over 100 articles. Some of his books are: Social measurement, Quality of life paradigm vieţii(coordinator with Iuliana Precupeţu), Territorial profiles of quality of life,Dictionary of quality of life(coordinator with Marian Vasile). Professor Ioan Mărginean is Doctor honoris causa of the University of Oradea.
Research interests: methodology of sociological research, social structure, social policy, quality of life, social indicators, and the study of democracy.
