Annually, RIQL has been compiling comparative analyses and evaluations of social policies adopted in Romania and it has been contributing to the elaboration of social legislation. We have been monitoring the state of reforms in the area of social services: social insurance and social work, public health and schooling. To this end, RIQL collects statistical data and monitors laws, decisions, and decrees with possible impact in the socio-economic domain. RIQL studies the consequences of social policies on various groups: children, youngsters, elderly people, various underprivileged social groups, and compiles social reports and papers on a wide array of subjects related to social policies and social development.
Using the experience gained in the various scientific activities undertaken, the RIQL team has developed a theoretical and methodological work-instrument for the study of social development and an instrument for the evaluation of institutional development potential.
Through the contributions of RIQL researchers, the Faculty of Sociology and Social Work within the University of Bucharest has developed specialization degrees, M.A., and Ph.D. degrees in social policies and social development.
